APT Partnering with Local Manufacturers in CIS to Expand TAFMER Market Penetration

Advanced Polymer Trading is looking to partner with local manufacturers to expand the market availability of TAFMER in the CIS including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine.

Advanced Polymer Trading (APT), an international trading company who specialise in the global trade of plastics, rubber, and petrochemicals, is expanding its network of potential local manufacturers for Mitsui’s TAFMER range of products. APT is focusing on manufacturers in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Ukraine.

TAFMER is an alpha-olefin copolymer product series offered by Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. As a colorless, transparent, odorless and gelation-free copolymer, it is used in a broad range of applications including packaging, stationery, toys, automotive parts, civil engineering and building materials, sports goods, and household goods. TAFMER uses metollocene and Zigler-Natta catalyst technologies and is used as an additive with polyethylene, polypropylene and other thermoplastics like EVA to improve its physical properties.

APT to Distribute Industrial Grades of Denka’s Chloroprene Rubber in the Middle East

Advanced Polymer Trading has entered into a new agreement with Denka to distribute the industrial grades of its Chloroprene Rubber in the Middle East.

Advanced Polymer Trading (APT), an international trading company specialising in the world wide trade of rubber, rubber additives, plastics and petrochemicals has entered into a new agreement with the Japanese chemical company Denka. Under the terms of the new agreement, APT will distribute industrial grades of Denka’s Chloroprene Rubber (CR) in the Middle East.

Chloroprene rubber is one of the most important types of rubber in use today. Due to its superior characteristics (when compared to natural and other types of synthetic rubber) it is used in a variety of applications including as hoses and belts for the automotive industry, as electric wire, as architectural rubber product, and as a general industrial material.

CR is a versatile material and its characteristic features include high elasticity, resistance to solvents, heat, ozone, low temperature and weather ageing.

“Demand for Chloroprene Rubber is increasing in the Middle East as it is in other parts of the world,” said Mr. Hamid Amiri, APT’s Managing Director. “As a versatile synthetic rubber, CR is used for a wide range of applications including industrial products.”

Originally Chloroprene Rubber was used primarily in electric wire and adhesives, however it is now in demand for a whole range of applications including automotive components.

Chloroprene Rubber can be used in a variety of applications, due to its superior characteristics when compared to natural and other types of synthetic rubber, from wire and cable, belts, hoses and rubber lining. Although used mainly in the rubber industry, CR is also an important raw material for adhesives as well as for different latex applications.

TAFMER is a low crystalline or non-crystalline Alpha-Olefin copolymers developed by Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. using metollocene catalyst and advanced Zigler-Natta catalyst technologies. TAFMER is used as an additive to be blended with polyethylene, polypropylene and other thermoplastics like EVA to improve its physical properties. In addition, TAFMER can be used as a base resin for flexible moulding material. Advanced Polymer Trading is Heading to Plast Eurasia 2011 – The Most Important International Plastics Trade Fair In Eurasia

APT will participate in Plast Eurasia 2011, the most important international plastics trade fair in Turkey and Eurasia, which starts October 27th. APT will be joined on stand 719 in hall 7 by the colouring solutions provider Aksoy Plastik.

Advanced Polymer Trading FZC (APT), an international trading company specialising in the world wide trade of rubber and plastics, will be exhibiting at Plast Eurasia 2011, the 21st International Istanbul Plastic Industries Fair. APT will be joined by its partner Aksoy Plastik who specialize in supplying colouring solutions and performance improving additives.

Plast Eurasia 2011 is organized by TÜYAP Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. in cooperation with the PAGEV (Turkish Plastics Manufacturers, Research Development and Education Foundation) and will take place between October 27 – 30, 2011 at the TÜYAP Fair Convention and Congress Center, Buyukcekmece, Istanbul – Turkey.

In 2010, the trade show saw exhibitors coming from 755 different companies spanning 38 countries. The fair was visited by 29,684 professionals, including 3,941 foreign professionals from 73 countries. The plastics market continues to grow in Turkey and Eurasia, and APT along with Aksoy will use this event to expand into new markets, meet new customers and connect with leading professionals and decision makers in the Turkish and Eurasian plastics industry.

APT to Distribute Alcamizer – Kisuma’s Heat Stabilizer for PVC

Advanced Polymer Trading FZC has started to distribute Kisuma Chemicals’ Alcamizer, a heat stabilizer for PVC.

Advanced Polymer Trading (APT), an international trading company specialising in the world wide trade of rubber, plastics and petrochemicals, has started to distribute Alcamizer – a hydrotalcite like compound that can be used as a heat stabilizer in heavy metal free PVC processing.

Alcamizer offers manufacturers high heat stability along with high transparency but without deteriorating the insulating characteristics of PVC. It works by trapping hydrochloric acid in the PVC by an ion exchange reaction. Alcamizer is also environmentally safe, as it contains no heavy metals or any sulphides.

“Alcamizer is a safe and flexible heat stabilizer and we are very pleased to make it available in our distribution channels” said Mr. Hamid Amiri, APT’s Managing Director. “As Kisuma is a market leader and global supplier of magnesium hydroxide and synthetic hydrotalcites for plastics applications, its products fit well into the sectors targeted by APT.”

Kisuma has a range of compounds that are used mainly in the engineering plastics and polymer processing industries. Along with its PVC heat stabilisation products, Kisuma compounds can be used for adding flame retardancy to cables and for halogen scavenging in poly propylene and other bulk polymers.

APT Hosts Seminar on Latest Developments of Milastomer in the Automotive Industry

Advanced Polymer Trading conducted an educational seminar for its customers on the latest developments of Milastomer in the Automotive Industry.

Advanced Polymer Trading (APT), an international trading company specialising in the world wide trade of rubber, plastics and petrochemicals, is pleased to announce the success of an educational seminar, it conducted in co-operation with Mitsui Chemicals, on the latest developments of Milastomer in the automotive industry.

Milastomer is Mitsui’s Thermoplastic Olefinic Elastomer which is particularly suited for the automotive industry where it is used for interior trims including dash boards and doors.

The customer seminar covered a variety of topics including:

Milastomer for automotive sealing profiles applications as a replacement for EPDM rubber.
Milastomer for automotive instrument panel skins.
Milastomer for airbag covers.

APT Launch New Project with Mitsui Chemical Europe and EVAL Europe to Develop New Milk Packaging

Advanced Polymer Trading FZC has launched a new project with Mitsui Chemical Europe and EVAL Europe to develop the usage of ADMER and EVAL in milk packaging.

Advanced Polymer Trading (APT), an international trading company specialising in the world wide trade of rubber, plastics and petrochemicals, has started a new project together with Mitsui Chemical Europe and EVAL Europe to develop new ways of using ADMER and EVAL in milk packaging.

EVAL Europe’s EVOH copolymer resins are particularly suited for food applications where it acts as a functional barrier. Keeping oxygen out, an EVAL layer can preserve the flavour and the quality of the milk and protect sensitive vitamin content.

ADMER adhesive resin, manufactured by Mitsui Chemical Europe, is a functionally modified polyolefin that serves as a tie layer in multilayer applications such as films used for food packaging. These special films contain barrier materials such as EVAL to protect the filling from oxygen, odors and UV-light and thus prolong the shelf-life of the packed goods.

“EVAL and ADMER are excellent products and work well together.” said Mr. Hamid Amiri, APT’s Managing Director. “We are very excited to start this new project targeting milk packaging.”

This new venture with Mitsui Chemical Europe and EVAL Europe builds on the existing agreements already in place with APT.
