APT Launch New Project with Mitsui Chemical Europe and EVAL Europe to Develop New Milk Packaging

Advanced Polymer Trading FZC has launched a new project with Mitsui Chemical Europe and EVAL Europe to develop the usage of ADMER and EVAL in milk packaging.

Advanced Polymer Trading (APT), an international trading company specialising in the world wide trade of rubber, plastics and petrochemicals, has started a new project together with Mitsui Chemical Europe and EVAL Europe to develop new ways of using ADMER and EVAL in milk packaging.

EVAL Europe’s EVOH copolymer resins are particularly suited for food applications where it acts as a functional barrier. Keeping oxygen out, an EVAL layer can preserve the flavour and the quality of the milk and protect sensitive vitamin content.

ADMER adhesive resin, manufactured by Mitsui Chemical Europe, is a functionally modified polyolefin that serves as a tie layer in multilayer applications such as films used for food packaging. These special films contain barrier materials such as EVAL to protect the filling from oxygen, odors and UV-light and thus prolong the shelf-life of the packed goods.

This new venture with Mitsui Chemical Europe and EVAL Europe builds on the existing agreements already in place with APT.

Advanced Polymer Trading Increases Its Research and Development Budget by 40%

APT increases its R&D budget for 2011 by 40%. The extra resources will be used for the market development of products like TAFMER, ADMER, EVAL and MILASTOMER.

Advanced Polymer Trading (APT), an international trading company specialising in the world wide trade of rubber, plastics and petrochemicals, has announced a 40% increase in its research and development budget for 2011.

The increased budget will be used for the market development of Mitsui Chemicals’ TAFMER, a polyolefin that enhances impact strength and flexibility, Mitsui Chemicals’ ADMER adhesive resin, a functionally modified polyolefin that serves as a tie layer in multilayer applications such as films, pipes, tanks or as a coupling agent, and EVAL Europe’s EVOH polymers which are particularly suited for food, medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, agricultural & industrial packaging and automotive applications.

APT’s Research and Development department runs the “APT Lab” which offers one of the best facilities for plastic and polymer R&D within the Middle East. With Ph.D. polymer chemists and a team of well trained scientists, APT is able to provide its clients with expert solutions.

APT and EVAL Europe nv Enter Into New Partnership to Promote EVAL Resins

Advanced Polymer Trading FZC has teamed up with EVAL Europe nv to market, sell and distribute EVAL resins.

Advanced Polymer Trading (APT), an international trading company specialising in the world wide trade of rubber, plastics and petrochemicals, has entered into an agreement with EVAL Europe nv to market, sell and distribute EVAL resins. EVAL, which is the registered trademark for the ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer resins are characterised by their excellent processability and outstanding barrier properties.

EVAL polymers are particularly suited for food, medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, agricultural & industrial packaging and automotive applications which perfectly fits the sectors and applications targeted by APT.

One of the major applications of EVAL is as a functional barrier in food packaging. Keeping oxygen out, an EVAL layer preserves the flavour and the quality of the food. Even in cases where the food is more stable or specially treated, such as baby milk, EVAL barrier properties can be used to protect sensitive vitamin content.
